First rails joined on Portland light rail line

Were the rails “same-sex”?

the line through milwaukie waqs part of the third true interurban in north america, portland to oregon city, 14 miles, built in 1893; it ran until Jan. 1958. the first and second were the same length, 14 miles: tacoma to steilacoom WA, and vancouver to new weswtminster BC, both built in 1891

No William - that would only be the Mayor !

When it comes to rail Portland, Ore. has has it wired. Tri-Met is number one.

MAX is a slick system. Glad their extension to Amtrak depot is now built since my '10 visit.

I was in Portland three weeks ago, and it was great to see this progress first hand!

Portland is an excellent example of how a city of its size should have a public transit system it has. Even the airport connection is handy!
