When these first came into service they were a huge improvement over the Boeing Vertols put into service in the 70s; which in turn were replacements for the PCCs. The Boeings had sliding doors which gave the T fits; the T replaced them with the folding doors they’d used for 50 odd years. Wonder if the refurbs and new retain the folding doors.
I guess we have to rely on Google for a photo of a Type 7 trolley.
Of course the dirty little secret was that the Type 7’s tendency to “hunt” is what made the Type 8s prone to derailment. But that’s another story.
Albert,
To suggest that the unsanitary, small, confidentialyties, about the “7’s” that aided the “8’s” proclivity to go on the ground…is another story.
Please tell the "other story.’
I know almost nothing about the MTA “7” and “8” and the rest of the program.Track -train dynamics I know, the 70’s and early 80’s parts at least.
Your story should fascinate; I look forward toward enough info. that helps me understand it.
Mr. Carlin,
As has been suggested to you a number of times now, some judicious use of grammar and sentence structure along with a reduction in the use of nebulous metaphor - in other words, plain, correct English - should go a long way toward helping the rest of us understand your story.
