Fitting kunckle couplerd to British OO scale

I found out about the NEM coupler socket when I had to replace a coupler on a BLI GG1.

I really don’t know how well that attachment method would work on the drawbar pull of some of the trains I run. I’ve had up to 88 HO cars behind 4 or 5 three axel SD-45s. I’m afraid I would “pull a drawbar” if my engines used NEM coupler shanks.

Maybe I’m underestimating their pulling power but when I had to change one it just snapped out of the draft gear pocket with only a little effort…

I wonder… Did they convert any of the couplers when the LMS Royal Scott Class 6100 toured the USA back in 1933?

British trains would never be that long. British cars are also not weighted as much as ourS. If you’re pulling along the axis of the NEM couplers they are actually quite strong and unlikely to pull apart or break.
