fixing bachmann ez track turnouts, N scale

Ok everyone, here’s my dilemma:

I have several (6 or 7) bachmann ez track switches, and while I can fix problems with the alignment of the frogs, I am thouroughly befuddled as to how I could start fixing the electronic portions of the turnout. I am NOT concerned with saving the roadbed, nor the cord that goes from the turnout to the toggle switches Bachmann supplies. My goal is to get them to be more or less like the other Atlas turnouts which I have and love. I have enclosed a diagram-- marked in yellow is roughly where I can find lead wires to supply power.
but, also the frog and the rest of that part of the turnout is insulated from the rest of the track, if that helps. ANYWAYS, if anyone has fixed these before, or knows more about electronics than I do and could help me out here, that’d be most appreciated. Thanks guys.

I have very similar problems with my bachmann HO turnouts. Make sure the rails are not touching, the wires are not touching eachother and make sure the rails are not touching the frogs. To test if they are touching the frog slide a knife between the rail and frog.

hey, i fixed it. Thanks!!!
and here’s how— i cut the frog off from the rest of the switch. That loosens it up like crazy, but after some glung and filing, it runs again!!
