Flex track-what kind is this?

I am looking at some flex track and am not sure of the mfg. It is stamped “gt-italy” on the back of the ties. I am thinking it is model power or lifelike. Can anyone confirm?

Thanks,

It’s Model Power flex track – between it and Atlas you can barely tell any difference once they’re in place and ballasted. I think the MP crossties are a more realistic size than Atlas. MP rail is stiffer, and MP flex track is a little cheaper than Atlas.

That is what I was thinking, wasn’t sure though. I have used MP flextrack in the past and remember it being stiffer. Thanks for the info.

Just to be on the safe side, check it with a magnet. A magnet won’t attract to nickel silver, but it will attract to some of the cheaper “no-name” flex track that is made from steel. It might be ok for stub sidings, but I wouldn’t use steel track on the main … would only be asking for head-aches.
