We finally got our wish for no more snow (maybe) and now the rains are flooding us everywhere. Partially heard a report on ABC about tracks washed away but do not know where. I imagine this is going to be a busy year for track flood closures; not counting the ones already in NJ. Appears this year will not be as bad as 1936. Keep us posted!

That would be correct–I heard that commuter service on one MBTA line was impaired by a washout. It could be just a trolley line, but still…
Both trolley and commuter rail had issues.

GREEN LINE D BRANCH DELAYS: Because of a large sinkhole under the tracks between Chestnut Hill and Newton Center Station on the D branch of the Green Line, buses are replacing train service between Riverside and Reservoir Stations – in both directions. Repairs are expected to take several days.

COMMUTER RAIL DELAYS: The Lowell Line is experiencing delays because of flooding at Wilmington Station. Wilmington Station closed because of flooding. The Framingham/Worcester line, Franklin Line, Providence/Stoughton lines all experiencing 15-20 minute delays
