Both railroads are closed due to washouts and flooding at Savanna. Traffic is being detoured over the CP(Soo) to Chicago. Traffic off the DM&E Marquette Sub. is being routed north to LaCrescent, MN and then east. BNSF’s first detour came down the River Sub. from St. Croix (Hastings, MN) due to the connecting link at LaCrosse, WI being in the wrong quadrant for a through movement. DM&E is expecting to close at Davenport soon due to rising waters there.
I saw a west bound Z train at hastings today. And heard that there was a east bound Z moving down the river sub. How long are the BNSF trains going to run run on the CP River sub? Anyone know?
BNSF is back on Home rails as of late Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning.
So no more Z trains on the river sub anymore? Whats the work on the DME(CP) route? Is that back in service?
