Flush Windows for Athearn C44-9

Is there some kind of window that could fit into the deep holes of Athearn’s C44-9W. Apart of that thick wall, the rest of the body looks great.

I know it is bloody annoying isn’t it? If Athearn could just re-mold that cab on their C44-9w’s, then they would have a much more accurate model. However, if you check out a company called ‘CANNON’, you may have some luck!! They make cabs and hoods for a lot of different loco’s.

American Model Builders makes flush fitting windows for the dash 9 units. I have put these on my units and I must say they look great. Just becareful when you glue them. I would recommend using Elmers glue to put them in place since it won’t run like a plastic cement. You can order them through Walthers or through your local hobby store. They run about $4 - $5. Here is Walthers part number.
