Will be heading to Jacksonville, FLA this weekend. What is the best exit off
Can’t help you there - I came up out of Jax, past the airport. Best shot is to use Mapquest or Mapsonus (or similar). They’re usually pretty good about giving you reasonable routes. That’s how I got my route from where I was staying.
Enjoy the show there - it’s great. Morning will be the best photography from the pavilion, but for just plain watching it’s the best place to be.
If you are talking about I95, Georgia exit #3 is probably the best. This is Georgia route 40. If I remember correctly, the sign says Kingsland/St. Marys. Go west about 20 miles to Folkston. The St. Marys Railroad owns the tracks that parallels GA 40 for a short distance after you exit the expressway.
Hope the weather is nice and the trains are aplenty.

another way is to go from the air port and find highway 1 it will lead you ALL the way to Folkston and other places also visit FEC’s Bowden Yard
hopefully you will see more trains than I did(30) and more BNSF’s and UP’s(3,2 in 3 days!)

the new ge locos go through folkston to headquarters in jax so they can add items to engines.
G’day, Y’all,
Heading southward on U.S. 1 from Waycross is nice because you can race the trains. I’ve had trouble keeping up with some of them when they were hitting over 100 near Race Pond.

the speed limit is 60 in Race Pond and most trains I see in Folkston I chase when I am going to Waycross and I catch up with them easily
