I can’t remember whether I stumbled across this site or if someone here told us about it, but this link below is a gold mine for all things steam loco-related. There’s enough information here to keep you reading until zero-dark-thirty tomorrow morning. Enjoy.
It’s too bad there’s not a printable version of all this instead of having to go to the web site every time you need to look something up.
My Gawd Selector. As if I don’t spend enough time on the computer, you have to come up with this!
A veritable (sp?) gold mine of information. I have added it to my favorites.
THANKS.

How did you know my nuts were steamed?
That is great stuff Crandell, i have before me the equivalent book for British practice, it tells you all you want to know about steam locos and driving and firing them.
Bookmarked for future reference…Thanks!!
OK Crandell, I’m retired and still can’t find enough time to fit everything into the day. So here I sit reading about steam at almost midnight… Absolutely great site. I know I will be reading a lot when I should be mowing lawn (working on the yard) or washing (weathering) my car (or two). Thanks!
Holy horse-feathers, by the time I finish reading all of THAT, steam locomotives will probably be back in production, anyway. Thanks for the website, think I’ll take about a year off and peruse it, LOL!

Trust me, … no, really!..the pleasure is aaaall miiiiiine.! [:D]
I’m happy you have found this site to your liking.
Excellent site. I am fortunate to have that information and more besides
in my copy of the official Locomotive Cyclopedia-1941 edition. But for an
on-line source, well, this is great. Thanks, Selector, for turning us all
on to this.[^][tup][:D]
That’s funny[:D][:D] you beat me to the punchline!!
Ken.
Bumping, this one time only, in case some interested folks missed it this weekend.
