For 'grande man'

Can I ask where you got that lovely building in your signature? I like it a lot!

I may be wrong but I believe that is the "New River mining co."made by Walthers

I second the vote for the “New River Mine”, I have it on my layout and the picture looks identical. MRR used this kit in a kit bash on a project RR and many were dissapointed to find that it had been discontinued by Walthers. It seems to be back in stock however.

Yes, that’s the one, it looks absolutely fantastic. Thank you guys for helping me out with this one.

Electro, these guys are telling you right, as usual. The building is Walther’s New River Mine. I renamed it for the Platte Canyon Sub though (just yesterday).

Are you going to model D&RGW?

grande man:

Yes I like D&RGW so I will try to model something like that. I have searched the net all day for great scenery pictures. And learned a lot of the D&RGW history

Nice name!

Electro,
What area of the DRGW are you going to model? The Moffat Line, Tennesse Pass? If you haven’t you should read the book: Rio Grande Railroad by James R. Griffin. My cousin wrote it.

I definitely recommend James Griffin’s book. Also, check these out. Glad to see another Rio Grande modeler. It’s was an awesome prototype!

I don’t know yet. There are so many nice places to model [:D] I have a couple of photos from the bond area, I like that scenery.

WOW, your cousin wrote it, cool [:D]

grande man:

Thanks for the links. I have seen some of these before, but the rest was new, interesting.

I will order that Walther’s New River Mine. I have a spot on my layout that it will fit perfectly. Thanks for giving me the idea with your nice signature photo.
