For the train geek who also uses computers

Lian-Li is a computer case maker that has made a case in the shape of…wait for it…a steam train!

Yes this is real.

Put a fork in me. I’m done. I’ve seen it all! lol

Don,

That is actually, interesting, What in the world, are they going to come up with, next??

Cheers,

Frank

A case in the shape of a diesel locomotive?

OK, I think I just found my next computer case - I DO build my own. What they need are some box cars and a caboose to go with it - so I can build my server plus the storage.

Hmm, I wonder what radius of curved tracks they sell to go with the straight track sections?

And is the one in the video running WiFi? Adds a whole new meaning to “mobile device”, doesn’t it? [:-^]

Jim in Cape G.

Yeah if you read the full article, in the end they outfited it with a wireless KB and mouse, the motherboard they used in it already has WiFi on-board, and then they added a wireless video transmitter for the display output (no VGA cable to the display, it broadcasts it wirelessly - very nifty, but kind of expensive still). So the ‘loco’ could run back and forth on its track while actually being used as a computer.

It’s all pretty simple actually, there’s a paddle switch underneath and a tab on each of the end track sections that flips the paddle to make it change direction.

Lets see we have four laptops, four smart phones and two desktops in the house. The desk tops are the only ones that people know where they are. All I hear is " Dad have you seen my Phone/Laptop? To have a computer that moves on its own would really drive me nuts!

Dad have you seen the Train computer? YA! According to the timetable it should arrive in the family room in about twenty minutes![(-D]
