I have an Atlas HO scale BNSF warbonnett B40-BW (Dash 8-40BW) whose left sunshade was torn (don’t ask). So it’s missing the shade on that side and Atlas’ parts department seems to no longer stock any parts for that locomotive. I presume that a C40-8W sunshade would work too but Atlas stocks no parts for that offering either.
I’ve tried detailing parts but they don’t look the same. Does anyone out there have a spare HO Atlas GE sunshade they can sell me? Perhaps you have a junked model or kitbashed or something. Please email fact275@gmail.com.
If none of the detail parts will work as is, can you modify them. I know that P2K sunshades are rather large. This may be a good starting point for you to shape. A-Line brass shades are great in that the brass pins will bend, not break. Downside is they lack the mounting detail and can be difficult to secure tightly to the cab. My cab shades are constantly being broken/ lost in a large club setting. It can be discouraging.
