For those of you...

Who have not seen the new KCS paint close up…

Very cool!!![8D]

Ooooooh! Purdy!

Nice shots, Ed. Thanks for sharing!

Big change from the days of white with red lettering. Looks nice.

I like that paint job. I have seen a couple of their units come through here on BNSF trains, but never in enough time to get a photo.

Great shots!!! Thanks Ed…

We have had them through here several times and on a cloudy day, they are quite impressive. Then I saw them on a very bright, sunny day and they were less impressive. Almost hurt your eyes bright. But as with any foreign power, we will take a change of scenery any day!

I love their rolling stock in the all black with just a hint of red. That’s classy.

…Pretty sure this is the paint design we witnessed thru here almost a year ago. At the time I noticed it was something different right away…It did stand out as being “different”. Haven’t seen any since.

Are these colors new for KCS? I have seen them over the last year or so on the KCS de Mexico units–are they now being applied fleetwide to the entire KCS lineup as well? Jamie

Thanks for sharing, Ed. I really like that paint scheme, but it sure does make the busy nose of that SD70ACe all that much busier! [:O]

Bergie

Jamie,

I don’t think it is fleet wide, just on the new 70acs…it is the New Southern Belle paint scheme.

You should see these guys on the point of a grain train made up with the new hoppers they bought, the black and gray ones…real classy looking train.

Erik, yup, real busy nose paint, but you sure can’t miss one of these coming at ya!

“Borrowed” this one and the one behind it for a while…they don’t stop worth a darn, but they sure can load up and kick cars quick!

The KCS crews must like them also, the inside of the cab was clean and really well kept.

Sad thing is it is made in Mexico instead of here.

Mookie, the only reason this thing isn’t blinding you in the photos is I took them at dawn, just as the sun came up…in full daylight, well, lets say you would be hard pressed to lose one in the yard.

Ed

thanks for sharing. I was lucky to catch the ones I saw awhile back.

stay safe
