Ford "C" series trucks

Athern makes a variety of Ford “C” series trucks in N-scale. Does anybody know the appropriate time period for these trucks? I’ve seen them in pictures from 1963, but were they used before then?

Ther only inormation I have seen on the Ford ‘C’ is that it was introduced in the mid-60s.

I can’t tell you exact dates but they were widely used in the later sixties through the seventies and the earlier eighties when they were replaced by a newer (not better) design assembled in Brazil. They were mostly used for local deliveries of all sorts and were appreciated for their quite sharp turning radiuses, ideal for city use.Though not a jewel in design, they were reliable and fair to maintain.Their worst drawbacks were their complicated shifting linkages that needed frequent lube and their poor heating system.

The Ford “C” trucks were first produced in 1957,and the last were in 1986.The cab was built by Budd, and also used on the Mack model N.It was arguably one of the most popular trucks in history, used in virtually all trucking applications. The differences in years were minor, like dual headlights in 58-60,nose emblems, and wider fenders in later years.A great book on this is “Ford Trucks Since 1905”,from Crestline books,if you can find one.
