Foreign Model RR Magazines

I just bought the August issues of Railway Modeler and Continental Modeler.
Both are published by Peco Publicationa and Plublicity, Ltd in England.

I hadn’t seen a Railway Modeler since I was in college 30+ years ago, when I bought it regularly.

There is a lot of railroading in the world, both prototype and modeling that we here in America know very little about.

For instance articles in Contintental Modeler include:

Wervik A Belgian prototype HO layout
Japanese D51 Mikado brass kit construction
Memories of East Africa East Africa railways and harbors in the 1950’s
Chinese QJ 2-10-2 photos of them at work on the Ji Tong railway

I always try and pick up a copy or two when I visit the UK to see my family. I particularly like to read about the small but very detailed layouts. It is often mentioned in MRR mag by authors like Ian Rice how European layout design has to take into account small space. Anyway, find Railway Modeller a great read.
