Nice article written by Roger Carp to go along with pictures of Dave’s fantastic layout. There is even a short video of it on the CTT home page. I have been fortunate enough to have visited it multiple times. His attention to detail is absolutely amazing. Congratulations and well deserved!
congrats dave! Ive been waiting for your layout to be featured. Always impressed with the great detail of your layout and engines. Ill have to go out and grab a copy.
Congratulations, Dave!
I read the article this afternoon, right after I finished perusing the Victoria’s Secret catalog. I just LOVE that first paragraph! As Roger noted, yet another New Englander’s layout featured in CTT! Welcome to the club!
You have an incredible, stunningly life-like layout, Dave. The detail and realism are just beyond superb! I’ve been waiting for this issue ever since I heard your layout was the feature.
Jim
That is great. New England??? Probably parents were displaced Southerners. [:-^]
Where is my issue!!!
Dave has been great in giving me feeback regarding weathering track and taking pictures of a layout. I can’t wait to see his layout in print.
Regards,
John
Looks like a superb layout.
Dave C - Congrats, although I’m still waiting for my issue. Loved the video–beautiful! We’ve been kinda spoiled already on SPF with your great pics.[tup][tup]
Just got my CTT this AM, nice job there Dave, I didn’t read the article, but the pictures are beautiful. Nicely done!!
(and yes…I CANT TOO READ…) [banghead]
I have admired his photography of layout scenes for a long time. I cannot wait to get this issue.
Here’s my own (lousy) shot of Dave’s layout, which I visited in 2006:
NH Chris
I remember that day NH Chris, Dave’s layout is awesome. If you are ever in Eastern Mass, Dave has a open door policy, just drop him a line if you are town
Dave, your layout is stunning! And your detailing makes it “real”. Thank you for letting us all experience it in CTT.

Dave,
Finally received my CTT. Great looking layout and stunning motive power. Nice job and please keep posting your photos on the forum. [tup][tup][tup][tup]
Dave,
Very cool layout! I really like the weathered engine look. Congrats on being published! Favorite pictures — page 44 top and page 45 — the realism is fantastic.
Dave,
Congratulations on being featured in Classic Toy Trains. That is an incredibily detailed and well-executed layout! One of the best I’ve seen; 2- or 3-rail, O or HO.
After perusing Fred Dole’s photos, I went down to our basement and looked at my feeble attempt - sigh.
DAVE, BIG CONGA out to ya. Great job, love the weathering on the K-line Berk.

I finally got my issue yesterday! Congratulations to Dave on having his layout featured in CTT. I was knocked out by his layout. In addition, he has been generous in sharing his layout and photography wisdom on these boards. Way to go Dave!
Regards,
John
Congratulations, sorry I haven’t seen the article yet (still waiting for my CTT), but your pics have always been topnotch!
Dave C - finally got your issue yesterday, and just finished reading your article. WOW, 22 x 48; that layout is a whopper! I know the article said you got back into the hobby in the 80’s, but when did you actually start building your BOSTON & ALBANY layout? Also, coming from a MR background (no, I don’t talk about those dark years), I could see SELIOS’ influence in your pics. Pic 9 is my absolute favorite.[bow]
Once again, congrats!
Congratulations to Fred Dole on some marvelous photography - look at the picture of the DL109 with the ‘sun’ on the rails.
