99% on a placement exam and was awarded a scholarship to high school!

Willy2 - a favorite young person of mine and a contributor to this forum - is the winner of the scholarship. I am so pleased and consider myself so lucky to know this young man!

Just about the time you think the younger generation will never amount to a thing, someone like Willy comes along and proves you wrong!

Kudos, Willy!

Mookie! [:X]

Congratulations, and way to go, Willy!

Nice Job!!!

Being new here exactly what is this about[?]

Willy2 is a young poster here on the forums. Since we live in the same state, I got to meet with Willy and his dad one weekend.

A delightful young man and he loves to watch trains. And looks like he is getting ready to make his mark on the world - in a positive way!

My kind of people!

Thanks but who tendered the your fellow the reward you mentioned? This forum or some other venue like a school? [:o)]

He didn’t say for sure but I assume the scholarship was from his future high school. Just like university scholarships.

Contratulations to Willy2, you have helped resotre my faith in the younger generation…WAY TO GO GUY!!!

Sorry still do not understand. Since where I have lived you do not need a “scholarship” to get into high school. Do you mean it is a high school like for engineering only or for the sciences only or for artists only? Are you saying where you are no scholarship means no high school? [?]

Think schools you have to pay for - no free lunch!

You just had to announce it to the entire forum didn’t you![:I]
The scholarship was awarded by my future high school which is Gross Catholic High School. Gross is technically in Bellevue, Nebraska, but is very near to Omaha.

Spbed: Just about anyone who scores decently on their placement exam can get into many of Omaha’s high schools, but scholarships worth $500 to $1500 are awarded to those who score really well on their placement exams.

I am also happy to announce that 8 out of 40 8th graders at Holy Cross Catholic School (which is where I currently go to school ) won scholarships to many of Omaha’s best high schools.

Thank U 4 the explanation & good luck [:)]
