Forum request for Bergie

On the old forum when you click on a link the browser would open up a new window for the link and the trains window would remain open. With this forum when you select a link you go to the new site and leave the trains forum. I find this annoying. Is it possable to have this forum open a new window when you click on a link like the old one?

Chad, if you right click on the link, do you get a menu that lets you select “open link in new browser”? from among the options?

Yes Anti I can. Man that will take some getting used to though. Thanks for the tip.

I’ve gotten to where I just do that out of habit

I’ve had so many times where I’d google something, then that site has a link that I follow before reading the whole page, and after reading the second page I’d close the browser without remembering that the “back” button was the only record I had of the page I first googled

SO, just being safe I ALWAYS open this way…sometimes I have like 20-30 browser windows to close before I can shut down the puter. etc.

Yea, I use firefox so i open in new tabs so I only have the 1 window, and that will get you used to it quick.

I use FireFerret as well - just click on the middle mouse button to open up a new tab.

Thanks Anti. That is helpfull. I’ve been posting links from the old forum changed to something new to do this as well.

In the old forum we could underline links, and in this one we can change their color or make them bold.

Sweet. It does work. Right click then open a new window.

I’ve gotten so used to using the right click option to I do it automatically for almost any website I visit. It’s not uncommon for me to be reading both the TRAINS and the Model Railroader forums at the same time, switching back and forth between topics because I have them all open in different windows. It works quite well, because while I’l loading one page I can read one that has already loaded.
