Forum Software Question

Has this site reconciled its differences with IE7? I’m still using 6.

I hope so since I’ve been using it for a while.

IT was having problems for the first few months after the converstion, but I haven’t tried it lately.

almost not related to the question , i’m currently checking out apple’s Safari browser on my pc . so far it works fine with this forum

just checking out the quote feature , if i recall correctly one browser had problems with the new version of the forum software and quotes

seems to work ok [:)]

The most annoying feature that has changed for me since converting a year ago, Chip, is that when I go on to another site, leaving this one, and then return and decide to post a reply, I have to wait for all the downloads of the smilies and the configuration of the textbox functions again. It’s a pain, but everything works for me once that little time-out is accomplished.

Why not use another window to go to the other site. That way, this site will always be just as you left it in the first window. Anyway, that’s what I do -no problems.

I guess I could do that, but I have trouble walking and chewing gum at the same time, Harry.

Seriously, I know what you mean. I’ll try it an see how it works out. Thanks for the tip.

I guess the germane part of my experience is that it didn’t use to happen that way. It was a simple return and the cookie was still valid. It works well on all other sites but this one.

So your saying that’s an IE7 problem? I’ve noticed one of my systems has that problem and the other doesn’t. Didn’t even think about the fact that I’m still running IE6 on the one that doesn’t have that glitch.[%-)]

Safari runs on a pc? Usually that term means a non-Apple computer. I do all my web surfing on a Mac Powerbook G4 (it’s also the machine I do my Photoshop work on) with Safari and have had no problems with it on this or any other forum.
The only problem is if I have multiple pages open in the forums, and I hit the logoff link on just one, and then close the browser, the next time I come here I’m still logged in. Apparently, one would have to logoff ALL pages that one has open, or close all but one and then logoff to be truly logged off.

Another possibility is switching to Mozilla Firefox, which is my favorite browser, and very stable.

I am running IE 7.0.5730.11 and have no problems.

I’ve run nothing but Netscape ever since I came on line in the mid nineties and I have never had a problem of any kind. Right now, I am running Netscape 7.2 on the old computer with Windows XP and on the year old Laptop with Windows Ultimate. The only problem is that Netscape is no longer being supported as of March 1/08. Hopefully, I wont have any problems down the road, ‘cause I’m gettin’ to old to learn another system. [banghead]
