Forum Suggestion

You’ve typed in a well thought out response to yet another riveting CTT forum thread and clicked on the “Submit Reply” button. The screen changes to tell you your reply has been posted, and off in the far left hand corner, in miniscule type, are links to lead you back to the forum or even further upstream. But it’s almost impossible to click on one of those choices in the 0.0345 seconds it takes for the software to automatically route you to the thread you just posted to.

I’d like to suggest one of two things. Either:

A. Incorporate a longer pause so we can actually click on one of those miniscule links

or,

B. create a reasonably paced option bar that askes you if you want to head back to the forum or go to the thread with your latest thought provoking post

Either option would make me a very happy cyber posting toy train loving geek.

How about some way to get back to the forum without having to click on back space button three to five times after posting a reply to a topic? That’s the one that really gets my goat! NO I don’t raise goats guys.

Another thing; when click Coffee thread, it takes me back about 4 pages from the end.

Also, apologize for the happy birthday logos; didn’t know it makes other computers go bonkers (doesn’t affect my Mac). I deleted all but one.

You need to be quick, but click-on “Toy train operating and collecting” on the left after you post. It does, however, take you back to the head of the “topics” page. The “other” forum is easier to post, and get right back to where you were. On the other hand, I enjoy CTT magazine more, since it’s more in line with my personal interests. Joe

Aren’t we supposed to be getting an upgrade to this forum’s software sometime soon? Maybe that’ll take care of some of these issues.

Seems I’m installing upgrades from our software provider at the lumberyard all the time. Every problem those software guys fix creates two new ones. I guess that is one way to maintain job security. Or maybe software is still trying to catch up with the human element.

How about a tweak to the software so that the forum rejects any new post containing use of all upper case letters and/or mis-spelled words until corrections are made?

Could we also get a tweak that would allow the forum to scratch my back when it itches?

When we spoke to the CTT folks at the TCA Meet in York. They did indicate there was a change coming for the CTT website and in the forums. They also mentioned the possibility that we may have to re-register. They mentioned that there are tons of folks who have registered, visited a few times and never come back. They were not definite on a timeline.

I expect that one of the CTT staff may pick up on this thread and give better follow-up than this old brain can recall.

Yankees are just too slow in reaction time. [;)] Sometimes I catch it and sometimes I don’t. Good point.

The scouting report on me: Dead cat-like reflexes.
