I’m curious about the Forum time stamp. I frequently log on in the afternoon and see posts marked as posted, “Today, 10:30PM”! Last week I posted something at 2am and the time stamp immediately stated I’d posted it at “Today, 8am”! What’s the story?
It sounds to me like you don’t have the timezone setting right. It is Greenwich Mean Time by default you can adjust it to any timezone by clicking on update profile near the top right of the screen.
Thanx, Chad, I’ve been wondering where the extra info up in the left corner came from! Now, can you explain the Avatar? Is that the signature herald or photo that goes up there, too?
The avatar is the picture under your name. It is a picture you upload from your computer. There is another area on the update profile page where you can enter your signature. You can type words here add links or add pictures by hosting them on another site and using [ img ][ /img ] tags (without the spaces) just as you would add a pic to any post.
Unless I am mistaken, when someone edits a post, the time shown on the “index” page is updated, as the thread has changed. But the time of the edit does not seem to show up on th epost itself. so a thread can appear to have a very recent update time on the index page, but none of the posts appear to be new.
I’ve seen behavior that I attribute to this, I know my time zine settings are correct, and I am logged in, so I am sure that is not the problem.
As far as I can tell the time is correct when I post, but can’t vouch for others. I usually check to get an idea when the subject was last talked about but don’t go that far back.
