Well most likely any POSSIBLE NEWS about a restored Fostoria Ohio radio feed would be posted to this discussion at railroadradio dot net. This particular discussion thread talks about what led to the end of the old stream.

We all need to keep in mind that ALL these truly SUPERB radio feeds are set up by very kind VOLUNTEERS. We all need to remember what life was like before the year 2000 when railroadradio dot net started. If you lived too far away from activee rail lines in those days you basically heard NO railroad radio scanner traffic at all. I remember those days in the late 1980s and 1990s when you were limited to only your radio and antenna. That is why I am so very–very–very grateful for all the volunteer stream hosts at railroadradio dot net. I suspect the troublemakers were and are youngsters who have known railroadradio dot net and the internet for their entire lives.

Anyways here are the particular links that are relevant to the subject of a Fostoria, Ohio railroad radio feed. First to start here is the MAIN page for railroadradio dot net:

http://www.railroadradio.net/

This first link talks about the ending of the prior radio feed that was very–very–POPULAR:

http://www.railroadradio.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=3750

This next link is to the still intact Fostoria discussion forum that was started because of the many years long effort by the prior host:

http://www.railroadradio.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=19

Of course be sure to check out the top-level home page of Railroadradio dot net:

That should answer all questions about the status of any POSSIBLE future Fostoria radio feed.

I’ve wanted to visit Fostoria for a couple of days, for a couple of years.

Now that I finally have the o’ppy, will the trains be rerouted on into Tuesday and Wednesday of this week?

You may notice I had a kind of general-interest railfan query in a separate post, “FOSTORIA, OHIO.” I bet the guys reading this can give me all sorts of info about frequencies, motels, food, etc.

daniel:

I am very grateful for the efforts made by others. I listened to Fostoria for a few months a couple of years ago (winter) and was always intrigued by the operations there. The folks who put up the scanner and hardware should be commended for their efforts.

If it sounds like I am complaining, I’m not, just missing it.
