Found A Track Plan...but one problem!

Hello Everyone,

I found a track plan that i would love to model but there is one problem. The problem is I’m using Peco code 80 flex with Peco turnouts and the track plan I found calls for a 3 way switch. To the best of knowledge Peco does not make a three way switch.
Is there any way around this or does Atlas make one that works with Peco track? Any suggestions would be of great help.

Thank You all in advance,

Louie

I think you will find that you will have to adjust every turnout based on the brand you are using as most plans are generic and most turnouts differ to some degree. So it shouldn’t be too hard to sibstitute a couple of #4’s for a three way. You will just have to slide them one way or the other to fit it in. Worst case senario you may just have to live with two routes instead of three. Have at it.

They make a code 100 in a three way switch.

Walthers has a code 83 three-way switch although it probably is longer than the one called for in your plan.

peco’s makes a 3 way switch in code 100…what you can do is “fudge” the layout…try to put in two turnouts by taking away from some of the layout where the three way switch is going…if you use #4’s and flex track, it should work…Chuck

If you have the space you can do what the prototype did and that is use two switches, one right hand the other left, right next to each other, to equal the 3 way.
If there is a code 83 3-way I suspect you can mate that with Code 80 without too much problem.

Thanks everyone for the help.
I will try to experiment and see what works best.
Thanks Again.
