Fox Valley Models - Great customer service!

I just want to give a shout out to FVM. I bought a load of their N scale wheelsets, but had some issues with a large number of them. I emailed FVM, and they sent me as many as I needed and a few more to make up for it from the next run!

In summary, they rock.

Perhaps I am missing something here but how does replacing faulty product constitute great customer service? I would expect any supplier to do that!

Well, compared to cough others that I’ve dealt with…

Their response was swift, the new product was reliable, and unlike many manufacturers I’ve dealt with, they didn’t ask me to send back the old ones.

I have received various defective train products. So far, the manufacturers have always been willing to replace repair. BUT, most of them expect me to pay for the return. This kinda grates, since I did nothing wrong.

ONE manufacturer said “don’t return it. We’ll just send the new one.” Walthers, as long as you’re asking.

ONE.

As a counterpoint, I ordered curtains from Country Curtains. Had a problem. Called them up. They sent the new ones right away. And they sent a return UPS box. All I had to do was to put the rejects in the box and leave it at my door. No cost. No driving. No finding a box.

But then, they don’t sell trains.

I agree, I had issues with a shell on a FVM gevo that I had purchased. I sent an eMail on Saturday, had a reply on Monday, sent my loco back on Tuesday and had a new replacement locomotive in the mailbox that Saturday. I think that kind of service is outstanding when your talking days not weeks.
