FRA to inspect Montreal, Maine & Atlantic US track

Your headline about the crash at Lac Mégantic, Que is slightly off. The final death toll is going to be more closer to 50 not 20. Due to the toxic gases in the area the search for bodies is still going on. But at last count 35 bodies have been recovered. The blast destroyed almost the entire downtown area of the town.

Does anyone know if and how MM&A traffic is being reroutzed?

Read the headline article dude,They are inspecting the U.S. track not the Canadian track, there has been no problems reported(at least not in the news) for the tracks that run in the U.S.,but given what happened in Canada you can’t blame them for being cautious in inspecting MM&A track in this country,they should also call for an inspection of rolling stock and locomotives from MM&A that pass through the U.S. unless they are handed off to some other line for the rest of their trip to the refinery.

Anyone know if MM&A crew and road power run the entire trip or if the train is handed off to a U.S. carrier at some point?

Hasn’t the horse already left the barn?

Mr Bowen;

The MM&A hands off the tank train to the Irvings in Brownsville Maine, the Eastern Maine runs to the border and the New Brunswick Souther run the train to Saint John, NB. Where the Irvings run the largest oil Refinery in Canada. The power is often switched out for NBSR equipment. Both the physical plant, locomotives and rolling stock is “the very best”. The Irvings run a class act.

It seems the problem never was about the track in the first place. Like the one commenter said, hasn’t the horse already left the barn?

M.M.&A. train wreck.
Why are they looking at the track? Wasn’t it a runaway
train with no one in it? Hellooooo
