From the Franklin Park Herald-Journal:

For the 16th annual Railroad Daze, attendees can check out remote-controlled engines, take a train ride through the streets or see how business passengers traveled in the 1920s.

At least seven rail companies will loan 15 locomotives or cars to the village for the event, said Don Fulmer, a retired conductor and yardman for the Indiana Harbor Belt railroad. Fulmer helped start Railroad Daze.

Union Pacific will supply an engine painted in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts, complete with 20 merit badges.

Canadian National is offering an E9 locomotive and two business class passenger cars from the 1920s.

In perhaps the most unusual offering, Belt Railway of Chicago will display two remote controlled engines and a caboose.

Taking a different route, Canadian Pacific will go off the rails, offering free rides to 30 people at a time around downtown on the Little Obie. Pay attention to the smoke stack, which doesn’t smoke.

Other offerings include a GP-40 diesel locomotive from the Indiana Harbor Belt, a diesel passenger locomotive and coach from Metra and a lounge car coach from Amtrak.

While Railroad Daze runs June 9–12, rail cars will only be exhibited from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 11.

Thanks for the info, looks like there should be some cool stuff to see.
