WooHoo, my favorite Trains author will be with us monthly. The really good news is that his yearly features will continue. That yearly feature is about 50% of the reason I suscribe. Thanks Trains.

That is good news. Fred’s reputation as a journalist helps him to open doors into the railroad world so that we all can see.

Absolutely the best one could do, right up on a par with Mark Hemphill!
Perhaps he will drop in on the Forum and say hi, as I’m sure there will be some comments for him.

I really like his articles. Has he done any on subjects East of the Mississippi?
I agree, a big thumbs up. I have been a fan of his for years and one of my all time favorite books is his Blue Streak Merchandise book. [tup][tup][8D]
The best writer to grace the pages of Trains in my opinion. His 1991 book about the SP/Cotton Belt Blue Streak train was a 5 star job and for anyone who had not read this work, I suggest you do so. . Someone asked if he did any articles on rrs east of the MS. Without going through past issues, I believe he did a two parter on NS & CSX and many yrs ago he did a report on Conrail around the Altoona area.
