Free to a good home - 5' gauge ex Finland steam locos

(but new ownere must pay transportation costs!
The Epping Ongar Railway in England are planning to dispose of some ex Finnish steam locos which are 5’ gauge. The costs of rebuilding them to 4’ 8.5" gauge and fitting to the British loading gauge have proved prohibitive and the locos are in poor condition. As an alternative to cutting them up where they stand the EOR are prepared to give them away, but the new owner must pay all transportation costs. For more info e-mail malcolmhills@talk21.com

In Quebec there is a Swedish steam locomotive, with Swedish cars (and couplers) operating.

Until quite recently several of the Scandinavian countries had strategic reserves of steam locos. A number of Swedish locos have found their way to Britain as a result of this.
