freight activity central new jersey

Hello

Just got on forum. I am looking for the best locations to watch freight trains in NJ. I’ve been to Bound Brook station. I’ve also heard of Roselle Park station. Anybody know best days and times pass through these areas OR other good spots?

Those of us from South Jersey do not consider Roselle Park to be “Central NJ” [(-D] Central Jersey is anything between Burlington and New Brunswick. North Jersyites think anything south of Newark is “South Jersey”, though. So sorry, but they are wrong!

The main freight corridor in “north” Jersey is the old LV line. West of Bound Brook, it’s all NS, but east it has CSX traffic, too. I believe that the eastbound intermodal rush is from midnight through dawn and westbound from dusk to midnight. Not sure about the rest of the trains.
