There is a neat chart on page 74 in the November 2005 issue of MR with the types of passenger diesels and the approximate dates they were in service. Does anyone know of a good source for the same info on freight diesels? I have the MR Cyclopedia Vol 2 and it is a good reference and shows the dates the diesels were built, but does not really go into the service dates. On a side note I am modeling the 1960’s to early '70s, heartland America (OH, IN, KY, IL, IA, etc), and I am trying to narrow down what types of diesels were still in service and what road names I should purchase for my engines. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
