Friends of the 261’s Judy Sandberg dies
Judy Sandberg was a wonderful person…smart, witty, savvy… all the qualities that enabled son Steve and the organizations that successfully brought big steam back to operation in our vicinity and beyond. Rest in Peace.
My thoughts and prayers for the family. I lost my mother a month ago, still feels like yesterday.
The 2450 Baggage Car should be named Judy Sandberg
Steve, my condolences to you and the rest of your family in the passing of your mom.
Judy will be missed by all. I enjoyed working with her. My condolences to the Sandberg family.
I remember her from the early days of 261 operation when I lived in the Twin Cities and was active in the organization. My sympathy to the Sandberg family and all who worked with her.
My condolences to the Sandberg family. Sorry for your loss.
Judy was a first class person in every way.
Sincerest sympathy to Frank and family. Judy was a kind,
brilliant, wonderful woman who had a great love of family,
and for railroading. Julie and I will sadly miss her. She
will be memorialized each time the 261 and Friends are
on the rails. May she rest in Peace and may Eternal Light
shine upon her. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Sad, sad news! Judy was one of the great people who always inspired me with her love of railroading and, of course steam, starting with our days at Mid Continent. All best wishes to Frank and Steve and all the others who new and will miss her.
So terribly sad. She gave me my first ‘break’ for volunteering on the then new 261. My condolences to Frank, Steve, Cathy and all of the rest of the 261 family.
Steve;
My sincerest sympathy for you and your family. Your Mom was always a delight to be with whether on the phone or with her smiling face on the trains.
