Does any one any pictures of the “Frisco texas special” or any other pictures of the “Frisco”.
Whole bunch of stuff out there on the Web. A sample Google search on
“Texas Special” train +Frisco
will yield all sorts of interesting things for you, including a picture of the “Meteor” paint scheme for the 4501 4-8-4 that’s been preserved at the Dallas Railway Museum.
Be advised that the Texas Special was a joint effort between the MKT (“Katy”) and the Frisco, back in the years when MKT was run immaculately, and I’d expect the train would be more known by association with the Katy; certainly I know of more coverage in print, e.g. by Beebe and Clegg.

STL-Vinita OK on SLSF (engine change at Muskogee)
Vinita OK- SAT on MKT via Dallas, with a short Denison-FTW stub section. At various times, thru Pullmans from NYC (PRR), WAS (B&O), and CHI (Alton) during streamlined period.
Post-1959 SAT-KCY via DAL.
Post-1964 DAL-KCY
Discontinued 7/65.
