i have just finished the hornby trackwork on my oo scale layout, but i was wondering if On30 scale trains would fit on the track without any modification? i have a shelf railway and the track is hornby standard sections,second radius curves and points.do On30 scale locos hang so far over the side of the rails the parrallel tracks have to be further apart?

tie spacing is wrong on HO track for On30 , but if that doesn’t bother you there’s no reason you can’t use it . i may be wrong , but i think Bachmann’s On30 sets come with their standard HO track . you do have to watch the overhang , track spacing will be very different on On30
Bachmann On30 runs on standard HO scale track, but requires more clearance, both horizontal and vertical. If you have two parallel tracks spaced the customary 2 inches apart, center to center, On30 engines and rolling stock would hit each other. If you have room, at least 3 inches between tracks should allow adequate clearance.
