Good Evening You All!
My question is pretty simple, but for all the research I’ve done, I can’t find the answer. So without further complications, is the area known as “Tower 55” near downtown Ft. Worth open to the public? I’ve seen maps on how to get there and all, but are there any restrictions as to driving in and parking near the crossings? I’ve just heard that there are all sorts of train movements during the day and I’d like to find out the best spot to shoot some pictures from. Plus, if you have been there, what are your opinions? Thanks ahead of time!
Mike

tower 55 is in downt town ft worth 20 miles south of saginaw[;)]
kansas city ave is just on the NE side of the diamond there is a concrete slab
& an old dock good view of the tracks there is also the old T&P station it has a parking lot and you can go up top to shoot some pics this is the safest place and it not UP property so your not tresspassing from T&P station plus you can see the new TRE trinity railway express pass train from dallas to ft worth round trip plus local bus routes to KCS yd in dallas or BNSF yd in irving and UP yds in dallas & ft worth for only $4.50 good deal plus the view from the T&P station is track side[8D]
OK so that means there have to be lots of public streets available in downtown FW. [:o)][8D][:D]

There’s a lot of public streets in the general area, but, be aware, it’s not the best neighborhood. I would be careful and definitely don’t be there after dark.
Don’t be there after dark? Whatever. It seemed like a pretty okay neighborhood to me. It’s all warehouses anyway. A fine line it is between paranoid and cautios.
The best access to Twr. 55, and as far as I know, you’re not trespassing here, is on the southwest corner of the junction, a block north of Vickery Rd.
When you go to Twr. 55, you might as well check out the old T and P station, too. It’s pretty as hell and it’s good to see that they’re rehabbing the top floor, too. It’s just going to be condos for yuppies, but it’s still a pretty building. It’s about two blocks west of Tower 55. Check out the metal “T and P” logos on the front doors, too, little shiny things that measure about an inch across. Like I said, it is a beautiful building.
It’s not OK. I have a client who has a facility 1-1/2 blocks from the tower. There’s a reason for all that concertina wire around his and the adjacent buildings.
