Ft.Worth's Double Diamonds

I’m looking for info on the double diamonds and switching yards around Ft. Worth’s short southeast side.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,LC.

Don’t know the specific yard you mean, but Microsoft has a great site for aerial photos that might help you locate it and see yard layouts. It helps to have a good road map to reference while you use this site. These are a series of photos laid out like a map but you would have to know your position, much as a pilot would. (You can’t zoom close enough to read road signs!)

You can zoom in close enough to see railroad cars and easily see the track & switches. This is a small yard in Fort Worth:

Clicking on the photo will zoom in, or use the zoom tool on the left side.

Hey Muddy Creek–great link–I think those photos are actually of BOP yard in Arlington. The yard services the GM plant. BOP=Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac. I think they build SUV’s there now.

Ichounds, is the info you’re looking for the yard just east of Tower 55? I believe it is called “Ginny”, possibly a reference to the the really old I-GN (International Great Northern) a Missouri Pacific subsidiary.
