How close will the Perris station be to the railway museum?
After a plethora of suits and countersuits, the Perris Valley Line can now move forward. It’s too bad these self centered NIMBYs constantly delaying projects thus increasing the costs of these vital services. Most of these crybabies think there will be mile long stack train blocking grade crossing when, in actually the San Jacinto Industrial lead which is only about 38 miles long. When it comes to railroads, the general public is, for the most part, clueless.
The Perris Metrolink station is about two miles from The orange Empire Railway Museum (OERM),. OERM already has a pocket in the platform of the now built Metrolink staion Actually The Perris Transportation Center also is terminal for RTA Riverside Transportation Authority buses. OERM plans to extend it’s trackage along with overhead to the tranportaion center. The Santa Fe depot in next door to the Transportation center as well. Unfortunately Metrolink will provide weekday service only, at least for now. OERM runs trains and trolleys on weekends only with the exception of charters which do run on weekdays.
The new Metrolink station (already built) is about two miles to OERM (Orange Empire Rwy. Museum). Our museum already has a pocket in the platform for our electric railway cars and we will lay track and overhead to the Perris Metrolink station. However, I don’t anticipate Metrolink providing weekend service right away. Our operations occur during the weekends only with the exception of charters. Also, the ex Santa Fe depot is right next door to the Metrolink station.
LA to Perris by train… Never thought I’d see it happen in my lifetime
Those numbers are not accurate mr mcguire. Its 43,000 riders daily! Over a period of 1 year…your result will be different. After 10 tears…much different. Think before you post.
Let’s see, $248,000,000 for 4,300 passengers. That’s almost $58,000 per passenger!! Cheaper by half to buy everybody a new car instead of building the rail line.
