Hi
I have several Soundtraxx decoders, one was a retro fit, but the others came in Bachmann locos. I want to map short whistle to F3, but even though I set the CV up as shown in instructions, F3 won’t work. Would that indicate the decoder is defective?
My DSD- 101LC won’t map to F3 either. Does it not have function mapping?

Sound decoders that are in new Bachmann locomotives are NOT the “LC” type unless you installed them yourself, but are a Tsunami if they are the “Sound On-Board” models. Go to the SoundTraxx web site and download their technical reference manuals for the LC and Tsunami decoders.
You can query CV 7 to determine which type of decoder you really have by looking up the value in the technical reference manuals.
