Fund set up for injured Boston transit police officer
I am missing something here. He was shot in the line of duty. That means that the MBTA is responsible for ALL of his medical bills. He also retains his paycheck as he is still an employee of MBTA. So why does MBTA think they need to ask the public to help support the man? Why does the Benevolent Fund think they have to ask for donations on his part?
It is OK for folks to donate money to the officer. I am all for charity, but this is one step short of stupidity when the MBTA and the Benevolent Fund are leading the effort.
I agree with Charles Hatler. Why is the T and his union taking this route? I also agree that you should give to help this police officer. He’s going to need all the help, support and prayers he and his family can get!
