According to the Wichita Eagle online collection available through the special collections department of the Wichita State University Libraries, the depot opened at 12:01 a.m. March 8, 1914, and the first arrival was at 12:51 a.m. There was a banquet celebrating completion March 6, 1914, and dedication the 7th.

if that all comes to be old town should be a busy area in wichita.

I agree with you Richard. I am excited about this station. I was down there just last week. They should consider an Apple store in there.

I’ve visited this beautiful station before. This is good news for Wichita.
