I am looking for outdoor ballast for my G scale garden Railroad. I went to Home Depot & they only have Paver Base. I did try the paver base but I don’t care for the Color. My question is does anybody know where I can get a different color Ballast. Maybe a garden center or a query close to the chicago area or maybe a web site I can order from? Any resoure would be helpful. thank you

Okay first get yourself a 5 gallon bucket or two. Look up in the yellow pages someone who sells decorative rock and gravel. (We have several of them in Columbus.) Take your buckets to the their yard with your shovel. Ask where the #9 crushed stone is located. Fill your buckets and then they will weigh them and charge you less than $10. Go home. Put down ballast.
