I’m Having trouble locating G scale Flex Track For a layout i’m starting for my grandson-- Does any one know where i can obtain 2/3 pieces of pinned brass lionel G scale Flex track? , Thank You Charlie ,clp61@ptd.net
I’m going to go out on a limb here, because I am certain at least one will argue.
Part of the “King of the Hill” game, I think.
Lionel large-scale track is tubular.
I have some still in use in the “shed”.
Bending tubular track is not easy.
I tried straightening some, as I have done with boxfulls of the German stuff for yard trackage, and it doesn’t work.
German, and AC, and USA are 332 rail and do flex (or straighten, or bend).
You sure you want Lionel?
Argue with you, Dave? Perish the thought! No flame-suit is thick enough to withstand your rapier wit!
[big grin] Loved visiting you (especially the 2nd mug of Yukon Jack…)
My understanding is that there are products for G scale that are supposed to be flexible /or bendible-- I have plenty of rigid Lionel track that i realize is to stiff to bend on the whole , Thank you for your input anyway,
Absolutely, but not pinned Lionel tubular track!
Aristo, and LGB, but right now, trying to find the latter is difficult.
There are “adaptor” joiners, but slip-only.
You cannot clamp hollow track, it will simply collapse.
If you clamp it to solid track, the joiner will lock down on the solid rail and the tubular will remain loose.

poe135,
I have to agree wit the others that have posted here. There is flex track, but Lionle never made it. They only made small straights and curves. If you plan to have the layout for a while, do your grandson a fovar and spend enough to get solid brass track from LGB or another company that will last decades and comes in many convenient sizes, inlcudung flex pieces.
