g scaler bringing trains in for fall

hi,im a g scaler bringing my trains to my basement for fall/winter
[%-)][%-)]i need help planing my indoor layout.
can anyone help me???[:)][:)]

Why are you bringing them in? Theres many great days and boy, running in the snow is great.

Bring this question over to the Garden RR forum General Discussions, get more responces there.

Marty does have a point unless your iced in you can run these things in almost all weather…of course if its 10 degrees you aint getting me outside either[;)]

I’m indoors doing large scale also, but a few more questions like:

how big an area is avalable in your basement[?]

what kind of stuff are you running outside now[?]

what are your curve diameters outside now? what is the minimum your stuff can take[?]

and most importanltly, what “kind” of an indoor layout are you contemplating[?]

a finescale highly detailed and sceniced type layout that would give these “small” scalers a run for there money, or a more layed back “fun” approach more like the 3 rail tinplate layouts (grass astroturf carpet, track on top, buildings just sitting on it)[?]

the former can take years of planning and construction to produce (my boat) while the latter can be set up rather quickly for more instant gratification[^]

Let us know, we can help.[:D]

I also want to point out, if some of you with kids, . G gauge trains is great to have them help you with. My 4 sons built all my roads and many hills with a company named Tonka.[;)]

Remember that TV comercial where the dad walks through the toy store with his kid in the cart and he comes around and sees the Toyota truck in the big box.
the look of his face was unforgetable!![:p]
Big boy toys…

Hey fellow grr guy! Dont bring them in just yet! Like Marty said, there are plenty good days during winter to run outside.

But if you are doing an indoor layout, use Bachmann track. It is cheap and meant for indoors. But that is just my 2 cents!
