Here are some BNSF photos I took in Gallup NM a few weeks ago on the BNSF Main near sunset.
Thanks , Mike
While trying to stay marked up and getting a steady paycheck, I worked @ Gallup in 2000 & 2001. Gallup has long since been abolished as a mainline crew change, but the jobs now protect short haul coal trains which shuttle between nearby mines and power plants. Back then, Gallup had a brakeman extra board and all jobs ran w/a brakeman. Mostly it was get on, get off w/hardly anything to do for the brakie. Being from the midwest, it was a change of culture, but what I enjoyed best about the region was pleasant temps, cool nights, no humidity, no tornadoes, hurricanes or earthquake faults to worry about. Hope to someday go back and visit for old time sake.
