The nationally syndicated Home and Garden Television Show - HGTV - will be broadcasting a short story about an Albuquerque Garden Railroad highlighting the Sulphur Spring and Alum Creek Railway. The segment will air on Sunday 26 April 2009 at 7:30 PM Eastern Time. The Narrator, Paul Jones interviews the owners about the blending of the model railroad in a backyard garden setting (Episode GBY-1806).
Gona have to e-mail myself so I can remember to set the VCR!!!
Rene,
Is this segment part of a show or one of those short commercial segments they do?

Brian,
Good question! It is a segment on a show called “Gardening by the Yard.” I will try and include the link to that episode here.
Thanks Rene. I’m familiar with that show (Paul James, “the Gardening Guy”) but don’t see it much anymore since its on so early.
Please note the time is 7:30 AM and not PM ( 7:30 PM is HouseHunters time one of my wife’s favorite shows).

I watch the shwo every Sunday morning before I go out to get the newspaper. The vast majority of his “segments” run about 8 minutes. Sometimes he has a 12 minute feature segement then 2 shorter closing segments. Since this show (as per the link) has three segements and the GRR portion is listed first, I would guess it will be another 8~10 minute segment.
I know a few months ago HGTV had a sement where their was a garden railroad. I forgot what show it was on HGTV but it was pretty cool to see even if i caught the tail end. I will have to remember this one.
I remember seeing such a segment on a program hosted by Mark Cullen. His dad has a garden railroad display located on the outskirts of Toronto. I met Mark Cullen when he was doing a promo in Owen Sound in 2005. I asked him why they didn’t do more on the hobby. He felt that one segment was enough. Go figure.
Thank you for the heads up, although a HGTV fan, sometimes I miss shows I really want to see. Howard
Note: HGTV is re-running this show: April 26 at 7:30 a.m. E/P (eastern/Pacific)! Set your DVRs or TiVo!
He did a show one time before on GR’s, probably a repeat from a few years ago, it was okay, if it’s the same one.
