Hi! My name is Trish. My grandparents, Gary & Linda, used to be vendors at many train shows. My grandpa built water tanks & coal towers, and many other scenery items. These were hand-made, stick-built, intricate, balsa-wood tanks & towers in nearly every scale.
Sadly, he passed away in 1998 at the young age of 63. I went to many of the train shows with them to help out. Baton Rouge, LA and Mobile, AL were the ones I tagged along to every year. These were awesome memories from my teenage years. We still have many of his tanks and towers from HO - G scale. They are definitely the last of their kind. I’m wondering if there is anyone interested in these unique pieces, since it’s such a shame to let such great craftsmanship be wasted inside a storage closet.
