For anyone who has noticed the selection of affordable gas station kits have become less over the years, in my quest for some HO scale gas station kits for my fictional Leelanau County Railway, i came across a manufacturer Great West Models which has their gas sation kit and 1960’s-1980’s gas station detail kit are in stock. At walthers their availibility are listed as unknown. Will buy perhaps 3 of great west models’ gas station kits, with a couple of model power shell and gulf signs.
Other kits from GWM have also drawn praise, but they seem to be unobtanium for some reason.

I do not know why you are complaining, a quick search of E-Bay shows a number of various types of service swtations are presenetly for sale.
A quick search of the Walthers site showed the same thing, I say only a few that were not available, most were in stock.
I know think the poster is an avid fan of Great West Models.

I wasn’t complaining, just noting the fact they don’t seem to be available via Walthers…and haven’t been for some time. And just any old service station may not work if you’re searching for a specific GWM kit.

There was a previous thread on another one of their kits where I believe direct contact was attempted with the vendor without luck. If anyone knows more, please post up. All reports I’ve heard about them have been positive, just that people can’t seem to get them through regular channels.
Of course Ebay is one option, but I’d like to hope that we’re not going there as first choice without trying to give the LHS or other source we patronize a crack at it first. Of course, if that’s the only option, it would be good to know that, too.
