DO any Canadian raifans know how GBO numbers are assigned?
First you will hear number 3794, then 341, 812, 5874, and so on. I want to know how it is determined which GBO will get which number. I’ve already determined that the number has no connection with mileage, date or location, so please help me.

What does GBO stand for ?
GBO = General Bulletin Order. I thought that under CROR these were DOBs Daily Operating Bulletins. I think GBOs are a GCOR term.
The DOB is a daily, or sometimes hourly on CP, bulletin of track work, speed restrictions and special orders. The DOB is essentially a list of GBOs and when a new GBO is issued after the version of the DOB a certain train has, it must have that GBO verbally issued. This can become quite annoying for the RTC because they have to issue the same GBO to every train that it affects.
