It will take me a week or so to get back to you but I can measure one. Any other dimensions you want while I am at it?

GE used to have a repair facility in Chamblee, Ga. where all the small switchers were overhauled. I have no idea if it still is there. If it is bet they could give you all the information.
“dldance”; Through thinking and laying my project out, I now need the measurements for a boxcab 23/25-tonner. Since these don’t have a hood, the only applicable measurement would be cab height, right? I think that’s about the only measurement I’ll need. Thanks.
Golden Spike uses a GE 25 tonner with conventional (not box) cab for moving the steam locomotives around when not under steam. Right now - as we are in operating season - the GE is parked in a secure place about 1/4 mile from the engine house. So my plan was to go early on my normal volunteering day, get access to the locomotive and measure it. I will still measure cab height but it is from a conventional cab.

Well, my 25-tonner project has gone down the tubes. I’m sorry if I put anybody to any trouble. Oh well, a project for another year! Thanks, guys.
here is the information anyway:
Cab height - 121.5 inches from rail head / 78 inches from deck
Length - 182 inches excluding couplers
Width - 96 inches
Hood height - 57 inches from deck
Hood width - 48.5 inches

Thank you. I may wind up needing that info some day, so I’ll save it.
I hope the 25 tonner is still running then.
