Does anyone know of an HO version of GE’s 2-D-D-2 Little Joe?
I’m selling one for a friend. $550.00. It’s custom painted for the Milwaukee Road. made by Oriental
Orienal and Alco Models brought them out in the 1970’s and I believe Overland did them a couple of years ago.

pic of my joe, in midst of painting rework.
There were a few brass versions made in HO, I don’t know if any new versions are planned.
Keep watch on ebay as they show up from time to time.
There’s a link on the NMRA manufacturers listing for a company in Brazil that has electric locomotives in HO. I believe some of the prototype locomotives went there.

the 2-c-c-2 lokie on that page is not a little joe, but similar to what the New Haven ran, still a big engine.

other electric vareties, sounds like a good source for some vintage models.
GE made the little joes for Russia but the Cold War was on, sold the order cancelled.
Milwakee Road got some, South Shore got 3, Brazil got the rest.
They had to be regauged to run on standard Gauge.
Thus the name “Little Joe” - for Little Joe Stalin.
